Digital Tachographs

In Slovenia, the competent authority for issuing digital tachograph cards is the company Cetis d.d.

The Slovenian Roads Agency is the delegated public agency for issuing digital tachograph cards to Cetis d.d.  As the competent card-issuing authority, Cetis is obliged to issue tachograph cards in the territory of the Republic of Slovenia and perform other administrative tasks which are part of their public authority.

At the office, which will open by the end of April 2006 at Cetis company headquarters at Čopova ulica 24, Celje, drivers who are obliged to have a tachograph on board their vehicles in accordance with Council Regulation (EEC) No. 3820/85 may get all the information they need for obtaining tachograph cards.
After the opening, the office will also provide general information on digital tachographs, tachograph cards, persons entitled to tachograph cards, cases where the use of tachograph cards is obligatory, how to apply for a tachograph card, why tachograph cards must be used, and information on specific procedures.

Cetis d.d. publishes all information concerning the issuance of digital tachograph cards on its website as well.
Vehicles to be equipped with a tachograph:
Extract from Council Regulation (EEC) No. 3820/85:

  • vehicles used for the carriage  of goods where the maximum permissible weight of the vehicle, including any trailer or semi-trailer, exceeds 3.5 tonnes;

  • vehicles used for the carriage  of passengers which, by virtue of their construction and equipment, are suitable for carrying more than nine persons, including the driver, and are intended for that purpose.
